Latest Rom Update, Positive Or Negative?

Hi all, I'm not trying to repeat other threads about the rom update. I'm more interested to know if there are actually more users were happy with the update or negative towards it?

kindly reply just with the word 'positive' or 'negative'. hope this thread can do as a simple survey of the long awaited rom update if it really helps?

Positive as long as I continue to leave BT on when shutting off my unit. I have no battery drain or over heating issues now. No not turing on issues. No loss of CF or SD cards. No white screen. My unit runs faster on auto setting (saving me power). As a foot note I have no idea why leaving BT on solves loss of cards and not turing on issue to start up again but it does.

I still lose my CF/SD cards and have gotten the white screen of death.

I have not had a battery drain or it get superhot.

So 2 fixes, 2 more to go.

After you have installed the update, what ROM version does it show? I have not installed the update and my ROM Version shows 'A01'. When I look at the download, it shows it is for A00. Not sure if I should download or not.

Update shows a ROM version of A04, hardware does not change.

Not sure since there is no model specified in this forum but I am assuming we are talking about the 51v. I was on the Dell support site yesterday looking at the latest ROM update and it was listed as ROM A05.

ps- nice avatar Precsmo, lol :approve:

A05 is for X50s not X51s. I looked just now and there is no new ROM update for the X51 from Dell.

Positive.
1. When CF disappears, just reinsert it. No more soft reset.
2. TCPMP v0.70 is very speedy with A04 ROM, better video driver?

sorry for not specifying properly what models and what rom this thread regards to. But howard2k has helped me to indicate clearly in the poll, it is for Latest WM5 ROM (A04)

in dell's support page, obviously there is updates available for the x51 models. and this is what the thread is supposingly for.
