WM5 to 2003 downgrade problems...

So, I finally got fed up with the sluggish performance of WM5 on my upgraded x50v, took the plunge, and downgraded. Results:

1. EXTREMELY slow boot into 2003 for the first time. EXTREMELY sluggish performance in 2003. >hard reset<

2. EXTREMELY slow boot into 2003, followed by surprisingly slow performance. >hard reset 2<

3. Back to normal with 2003 after the 2nd hard-reset! But now my Pocket PC won't sync with my newly-downgraded ActiveSync 3.8!

Anyone have any ideas how to get reconnected again? I did uninstall ActiveSync 4.1 before I reinstalled 3.8, so I'm not sure why this isn't working. Grr... :realmad:

I couldn't connect either...so was sent a new (refurbished) Axim x50v courtesy of Dell. Took only 2 days to get it.

Why downgrade ActiveStink from V4.x back to V3.8? V4.1 is supposed to work with 2003SE.

Mostly because I miss the ability to synchronize wirelessly. It was a stupid decision to take that out - if it's a security risk that enterprises don't wish to take, Microsoft should make an enterprise edition of ActiveSync, not take away from the average user the ability to sync wirelessly!

Well, tried reinstalling AS4.1 and it worked! Thanks for the idea! I'll miss my wireless sync, but at least my x50v is fully functional again.
