Hidden "Contrast" applet...

I'm trying to enter to the hidden "Contrast" applet editing the registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Contrast
(renaming the "Redirect" value to "Redirect_")
But when I reset my X50v (with WM5) the value "Redirect_" is set to "Redirect" again... and contrast applet is not available.
What's the problem?

Turn your axim off and on a few times before reset or use a software soft reset tool instead of the hardware reset button. Apparently WM5 saves changes to RAM and later writes it to the ROM so if you immediately do a hardware reset the changes are not saved.

Tweaks2k2 includes contrast adjustment in their hacks...but I can't see any control method after the box is checked.

Thank you. It works.
However this applet don't change the contrast.

It is there. Look in 'settings>system' for the icon.

OK, I found it after re-checking the option box. One problem though...it doesn't change contrast. I wrote Frank an email asking for help.

I've looked multiple times and checked/double-checked the setting in Tweaks2k2. I can't get the contarst applet to show up in the settings screen on my WM2003SE x50v. I can get it if I manually edit the registry. But...regardless of how you get there, I don't see any value to the hack since (at least on my x50v) it resets itself to minimum contrast (or maximum-maximum brightness) after every soft reset.

I played around with it a while back, and IMO you're wasting your time. It's a touchy control that takes too long to get it "just right," and once you've got it all set the next time you soft rest you're back to default and you need to fight the stupid slider all over again. After the first soft reset I never touched the Contrast control again =)
