SD CARD IS EMPTY after hard reset

I was having some axim trouble, so i did a hard reset. My sd card is now empty. WTF! why would a hard rest wipe my sd card. i hadn't actually used my sd card for about five minutes before i did a hard reset so maybe some strange electronic current passed into through me before i hard reset.. somehow i don't think so.. why would it do that? i am confused, maybe someone can enlighten me.

Are you 100% sure it's empty? I thought there were some threads about WM doing some funny things with cards left in the unit during a hard reset ... not in terms of erasing them, but in terms of mounting them in a different place in the filesystem or under a different name, with a residual (empty) folder in the originals' place. So remove it and re-insert it, and/or check it in another device, and make sure that the card was really erased.

oh it was empty alright. I am still very confused. I have had the mounting in different folder problem, but with bis not sd card, i just have to delete the folder and soft reset. but that problem hasn't happened since i did the hard reset and had to reinstall everything. aparantly reinstalling programs can clear up some glitches i had most everything backed up on my pc, so nothing important was lost, but what a hassle to reinstall programs (my only ppc backups were on the sd card)
