seeing and entering notes into a contact

I am new to my Axim x50v. I was forcibly moved over from the Palm family of devices I had used for years. All in all I am not unhappy.

However, I have run into a glitch. It seems that I cannot see any notes that I have entered into a contact, via Outlook on my desktop, in the same synched entry on my PDA. Further, after attempting to enter the same information into the contact on the PDA, I found that I am not able to do that either.

I open the contact (or create a new one), enter some information in a couple of fields on the summary tab, switch to the notes tab and try to enter some information. If anything is accepted at all, it is entered in the field on the summary tab where the cursor was when I switched tabs.

I am sure I am missing something simple but could someone straighten me out.

thanks.

Within the Contact part of Microsoft Outlook 2000 you must open the contact to see the note information (at least I have to). On the Axim you must not only open the contact but then open the notes area to see the additional information. BTW welcome to the site theres a great group of people here that are very willing to help with their expierences and advise. Feel free to use the search feature to find out information (its very strong) and if you do not find what your looking for ask away and lots will help.

Thanks for your response. I discovered the problem by finding another thread that dealt extensively with this problem. It is the Switcher Bar. It is a known problem to Dell and has been labled by them as a feature.

It seems that Switcher Bar is designed to just give you an overview of whatever application you have selected. Therefore, notes are not visible to you nor can you enter any. The problem is that the overview does not turn off when exit Switcher Bar requiring you do a soft reboot to see your notes.

Best bet: don't use the Switcher Bar.
