Well, I haven't had any problems with WM5 on my x50v but if you feel so inclined, go for it. You certainly are not alone.

Nice.

Seriously, there are no new x50 units because the x51 supercedes the x50.

x50 & x50v are 2 different units :)

even the tech support kept mistaking it .. I kept telling them I want the x50v not x50 . ...

x50v = 624Mhz

x50 ..only 520Mhz

not same ! ;)

I think you may have missed his point. Of course the 50 and 50v are different, as are the 51 and the 51v. What soulmirror was saying was that the 51 "line" replaced the 50 "line" of Dell PPCs. Just as the X30 "line" replaced the X3 "line."

I thought of that :)

just at the time I wanted to make sure that dell doesn't send me the wrong model config. and my mindset was still with that issue when I'd replied :p ... sorry ;)

that link is for the X51V ... not X50V ... I need a trade ..can't afford another PPC :( ( I also got mine through ebay previously)

~~~ a quick question ...
since I got mine from ebay (x51v + standard 1yr warranty & exchange) ... shortly afterward the ownership was transfered to my name with confirmed email from DELL. Now, do I have ALL the service as if I was the original buyer ??? ( warranty & exchange will apply ? )
that's how they get you .. :) if you browse through ebay .. some of the item seems really cheap ... but the seller jacked up the S+H to compensates
ex. there is the silicone case item for the axim ... price is $0.10 AU
http://cgi.ebay.ca/Dell-Axim-X50V-X5...QQcmdZViewItem
but the S+H is $11 AU ( 110 times the price of the item ???? )
When I shop Ebay I don't even look at the price.I go down the list untill I find a reasonable shipping charge.I then look at the price.I feel if a seller is fair about shipping cost he is going to be fair overall.
I don't think that there is any one right answer to this question. You would just have to call Dell and find out.
I transferred the warranty on one of my devices over 6 months ago. I only changed the country and not the owner. I received the confirmation within a few hours, but my warranty has since run out and it still hadn't been transferred.
I might be interested in a trade. I have never replied to this forum previously, so I don't even know how to send further communication privately?
