I'm assuming the majority of people who can swing for a x51v can probably afford one of the ipod models.

Not necessarily. If you have to save your pennies to buy the Axim you may not have anything left for the iPod.

For myself, I MUCH prefer to use my Axim with my 1gig cards as I ALWAYS have the Axim with me. I use it for just about everything and don't have to either take more than one device with me or choose between them. I just grab the Axim and run. ;)

The iPod is certianly nice but for me the Axim does the trick for both PDA and MP3 use.

Thanks,
I have a probably-dumb question too. Why are the Mp3 files I rip from CDs about 10 times the size of those I download from the internet, and is there a way to change this?

Most likely you just need to decrease the quality of MP3 encoding. It's also possible you encoding software has a problem as 10 times the usuall file size (30 to 40mb??) is a tad extreme!

You can set the bitrate for you recording, 160 Kbps is OK, 192 Kbps (this is probably good enough) should give 3 - 6 meg per song, you might go a little higher to see if you can tell the difference.

In my case I've found that just letting the normal screen brightness utility dim the screen works fine. After it sits playing for a minute it shuts off the backlight and it goes for hours and hours.

Does anyone else notice a glitch with that screentoggle button? It works fine for turning the screen off the first time, but after pressing the button again to toggle the screen ON, i cannot toggle the screen off again until I use the slider bar to change to a different part of the song.

No matter what I try, I can't use the button to turn off the display a SECOND TIME until I move the position slider a bit.

Not a HUGE deal, just a little annoying ;)

I recommend gsplayer for audio... TCPMP is fine for video, but I don't see much reason to use it for audio (though I haven't tried because gsplayer is great).

Few questions for everyone:

1. Has anyone tried using x50mix on an x51v? Does it work?
2. I am using WM10 will GSPlayer make my .mp3's sound any better?
3. What is the current version of GSPlayer?

Thanks for any responses to these three questions.
