I have £150 xmas bonus from work and I was thinking of putting it toward a Dell Axim X51v 624MHz since the Dell are offering a 20% discount and free delivery. The total price I'll have to pay out of my own pocket is around £100. Now, I already have a Dell Axim X30 624MHz which is a sweet little PDA and just over a year old. My question is do you think I'm crazy purchasing a X51v when I already have an X30? Do you think it's worth it?

Well worth it. Not crazy at all. :approve: The VGA screen is awesome and will blow the socks off your X30. I have an X50v which replaced my excellent old X5 but the VGA screen is a vast improvement.
The only slight doubt is that it will come with the WM5 OS which, according to some threads, is rather bug ridden although some people have had no problems with it. Doubtless Dell will send you an upgraded WM5 with the bugs corrected - if they haven't corrected them already.
IT is worth every penny. I upgraded from an x30 High to the x50v and never looked back. The VGA screen is AWESOME! Wghenever a friend shows me there qVGA devices I see nothing but pixels anymore. Also, I really liked having the Compact Flash slot also. It adds to my Axim experience.

Don't waste your Xmas Bonus! Send it to me so I can get an Axim X51v, currently suffering with an X50v. Woe is me!

I think it is worth it for the same reasons as mentioned above. Are you going to sell your X30?
Maybe, probably to my brother for £150 (inc cleartouch screen protector and aluminium case) Failing that, I'd just give it to my missus, who has no interest whatsoever in owning a PDA, and would much rather prefer an mp3 player! I know what you're gonna say, but that's women for you!

hehe, hmmm...let me think, give £150 away or spend it on a brand spanking new x51v - tough choice :D!
w00t! Just ordered my X51v, now all I have to do is decide what's happening with my X30H! 7-10 Working days for delivery it said after the order was placed and to tell you the truth, I'm not even that excited, not as much as when I was waiting for my X30 to arrive!

Load the X30 up with your wifes favorite music, now she has a great MP3\PDA player:approve:

Its the Right Move,
you'll love the VGA screen and massive ROM storage.
I have tons of apps installed and still got 70 mb of rom free. havnt even loaded anything on my 1gig sd card. I just use the sd card for storing my backup files.

Exactly what I was thinking, but according to her, it's too complicate to use and she'd just prefer either a Zen Nano or an IPOD!
Does the X51V come preloaded with WM2005? I'm really hoping it comes with WM2003 - less buggy software compared to WM2005 from what I've read on these forums, anyway.
First setup the X30 for her, show her how easy it is, and better to use\have, besides save yourself money also, as for the X51v it is wm5:approve:
I'm still trying to entice her to take it, maybe once I encode one her chick flick dvd's to divx and transfer it to the PDA she'll see how cool these things really are.

Now that is a great Idea:approve:

I would say it depends on what you do with your Axim.
If getting the VGA is not a big deal stick with what you have.
You can always save it for when you need to get a new Axim.
