It's Amazing

Unbelieveable how much better my X50v with WM5 runs WITHOUT Pocket Breeze and iLauncher activated in my Today Plugins. All my WM5 problems seemed to vanish.

Anyone else find this true?

I had pocketbreeze and thought it was the source of my problems, only to find that it was not the problem even when disabling.

Try the BT always on solution. It works for me so I do not loose my CF or SD cards and no Soft Resets to get my unit to turn on (X51V)

I didn't have either of those programs, and had all the WM5 problems. Bluetooth fixed the lost CF and SD cards, but not the occasionally not turning on and WSOD. I've since rolled back to 2003se.

I am using both iLauncher and PB w/o any problem (see screenshot). However it has been reported if you use any of battery/memory status plug-ins, this would cause severe performance degradation. So please try them w/o the meters and check for latest Beta version.

Other considerations:
PB brings a Today theme .tsk file about 500k in size and it goes to your \My Documents folder (RAM). Just move it along with other .tsk files you have to your storage card
iLauncher brings in lots of icons, you can also move them to your storage card.

See more tips at the thread "WM5 is here to stay..", Link below.

I haven't heard of the *Bluetooth Fix*. What is that?

Just turn on and leave on your bluetooth radio. This has helped a lot of people with the disappearing CF card and won't turn on problems. I have not had a single instance of either on my x51v since leaving it on and it seems to have worked for most people who have tried it.

Since I've upgraded I have been using PB with Contact Breeze, Pocket Weather, and Resco TOday Plug-IN (inlcuding battery monitors) set as tabs. Also, I am running Wisbar Advance 2 (with animated battery meter) along with iLuancher and CalliGrapher on startup. It's like WM2005 fixed all the bugs that prevented this setup when I was using WM2003SE. I don't keep my BT On becuase that unnecessarily runs down my battery.
