Altitude sickness?

I am fairly new to the x50v, and will be working between 9K and 15K feet all next week. Is this a problem for either version of the handheld, anyone?

I don't recall anyone discussing this before. You might want to check with Dell tech support to be on the safe side.

The axim should be fine, but microdrives don't work above a certain altitude so if you have one be careful

I've had mine up to a cabin alt of 13K for about 2 hours at a stretch - never had a problem with it. Think I've turned it on up there when I was bored so know it works as well. Also used it extensively on airliners, cabin alt of ~9k and it's worked like a champ

Pressure only affects a device if there is a sealed pocket with air trapped inside. I haven't taken mine apar to find any, but haven't seen anything in pictures or other.

DO NOT TURN IT ON lol You will absorb all of the water directly into your ax.

if it mattered... should be fine if you can keep it waterproof as the pressure works ON the Axim, not the Axim pieces trying to get out.

Depending on the coatings and land spacing on the boards you can get arching at high altitudes which of course is a bad thing. Pressure on the physical device itself (Less pressure at altitude, not crush pressure at depth)shouldn't be any problem. I would believe though its good to something like 12k feet altitude w/o issue. Above that I'd be a little leery to turn it on. I'm not even getting into accessories here like memeory cards, microdisks, and etc. If you talk to Dell let us know what they say, if anything other than reading the spec back to you ;-)
