Shipment delay issues

Well, I wonder if anyone else is having problems with their order. I ordered my x51v 12/3 and was told there would be a delay till 12/13. I used Dell chat 12/12 to verify and everything was good. Now, today I got a message stating it was delayed again until 12/20. So I called and they said that production has been held up due to poor supply of parts. Apparently they are waiting on a shipment of "action arms" to complete production on a ton of orders. Talk about not being ready for the Holidays! This really stinks. I wonder how so many people on here have been so fortunate to receive theirs in a timely fashon. I'm really ticked!

Well, thanks for letting me vent. I kinda feel better. Anyone else have an order issue?

Sounds strange. I ordered a X51v yesterday and it shipped today. Did you order anything special?

ordered mine on 12/6 recieved it on 12/12. I ordered the bundle, axim x51v, extra battery, GPS. GPS came 12/8... wonder why yours is delayed?

Yeah, see...thats the kinda stuff I was talking about. I don't know what's taking so long. I ordered the x51v, a case and wifi companion (which they said would ship separately)...so nothing special. I sure wish I knew what was going on.

I would call and demand to find out whats up... mention this site, and how several people have placed orders after you, and have not been delayed.

I had a 2 friends that ordered dell computers. one ordered 1 month before the other, the one got his after like 1 week.. the other took a whole nother month.

turned out he missed the checkbox about exporting outta country or something.

Order a x51v for my wife on Dec. 9 and UPS just rang the door bell and handed it to me. Just in time, the wife is not home yet and today is her birthday. She should be very happy with it.

I may do that. It wouldn't be so bad if it were for Christmas, but I actually ordered it for work. I could have gone to the store two weeks ago and bought an HP but I wanted the Dell. I may call again after I cool off.

Sorry to hear you are having trouble. I ordered one on Friday night (12/9) and received it today (12/13). Was there anything unusual included in your order?

No, nothing unusual...just a case and some software (which they said would be shipped separately). I'll probably call or use dell chat later and complain some more...what would you guys do? Any advice?

Same problem here. My wife ordered an x51v for Christmas on 12/9. Dell said it would get here this week and now they are saying 19 or the 20th. I leave town on the 20 so if it is not here by then, I will be really bummed!

Bummer. Maybe you can get compensated for your delay.

Good side is it's worth waiting for.

Ok...I just spent over an hour on Dell Chat and got absolutely no where. I even got transffered to a supervisor. Shippimg was upgraded to next day, but nothing else was done....still wouldn't give any answers and told me it may ship around the 20th.

I hope it's worth waiting for. Arggggg!
