Hmm "My ISP" connection setting not working after BT hp added

Hi! I'm using X50v upgraded to WM5

Few days ago I tried to add my Nokia 6230 as the BlueTooth modem, into the My ISP connection settings. Everything was fine in the beginning.

Later when I was back at home, I tried to use the USB Cradle connection via ActiveSync to connect to the Internet. Who knows the PPC prompted that "The current connection cannot connect to the internet. Please check the settings bla bla bla"

I did many testings and even removed the BlueTooth modem, making "My ISP" settings blank like before. However "My ISP" is no longer working anymore. After few tries, I found a workaround by changing both the connection settings to "My Work Network", under Network Management. Then only I could connect to the net via ActiveSync.

Furthermore, I notice that even when other apps couldn't connect using "My ISP", AvantGo Sync from the Settings still working fine.

Anyone can shed some light here.. light what reg key to edit, or to reset totally the network settings (don't ask me to hard reset ^^;)

Thanks

The following has happened: something has changed the default Internet connection group. In these cases, all you need to do is going Settings/Connections/Connections/Advanced/Select Networks and choose Bluetooth Settings in both drop-down lists. (It's, by default, in Bluetooth Settings that new connections added manually in Bluetooth Manager are stored).

You may also want to read my articles/posts on the Connectivity framework for more information; especially http://pocketpcmag.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=17837 .

thanks for the reply

So I will need to select the "Bluetooth settings" under the Select Networks whenever I want to go online using ActiveSync, even though I'm not dialing via mobile phones?

Nope, it'll only have effect when you want to dial out. While using the AS Internet passthrough, you can use any connection group.

That is the problem I'm facing!

Whenever I'm trying to use ActiveSync passthrough, the PPC says the connection cannot be established. There's no problem at all using GPRS

I tried what Menneisyys suggested and it worked! What I did was to create a new Connection Settings, adding the BlueTooth modem, and make both the Select Network options use this setting. Now I can use the ActiveSync passthru connection (even though this settings sets the BlueTooth modem)

However just puzzled why "My ISP" does not work anymore..
