Sending Email with X51v

I am having issues sending emails with my new X51v. I seem to receive them fine, but when I try to send one it takes forever to connect to the email server and gives an error message "Messages could not be downloaded to your mobile device. Make sure you are connected and that your settings are correct." All of the settings are correct. I dunno what else could be wrong. I called Dell and they said that Comcast may have compatability issues with Windows Mobile 5.0. I then called Comcast but they are morons and don't know what im talking about. Can anyone help me out? Any help would go a long way.

I also get this error but for some weird reason it does download and send the email. Go figure...

I had a similar problem last night. A reset of the WiFi router was all it took. Strangely a tablet PC in use at the same time was unaffected.

Perhaps I will try to get a Gmail account and forward all of my Comcast email there. Lets see how that works. I honestly think its a problem with the server as well. I just don't know what settings to put in to fix it.

I have Comcast and I can send/receive via X51V WM5 connected via BT.

I created a new Email Account in Messaging.
The settings I have for my Comcast Email Acct are :

Screen 1 of 4
uid@comcast.net

Screen 2 of 4
Your Name = my name
UserName = the comcast account name
Password = whatever it is

Screen 3 of 4
Account Type = POP 3
Name = whatever you want to call it

Screen 4 of 4 (Server Info)
Incoming Mail = mail.comcast.net
Outgoing Mail = smtp.comcast.net
Domain =
Options button
Option SCreen 1 of 3
Connect and check.. is not checked
Connection = Internet
Option SCreen 2 of 3
Outgoing Settings is grayed out.. i didn't have to specify any
Outgoing Mail requires authentication is not checked
Option SCreen 3 of 3
whatever setting you want

The first time I set it up I had specified the wrong user name for outgoing settings. I have since deleted those as I didn't need them.

I hope this helps.
