Dell support is now Aximsite support

After being their chat room for an hour, I am finally getting the axim replaced, turns out it has a faulty BT thing going on. The best part is when they said try this link...

11:36:06 AM Vinoda_0196800 Is the axim recognize the blue tooth device.
11:36:28 AM You yes...once it does is when the problem starts
11:38:47 AM Vinoda_0196800 Thomas kindly use this link to connect the GPS blue tooth on your axim.

http://www.aximsite.com/blue tooth/bt_guide2.htm#section5

The support staff gives me a link to here...it was priceless. So all the GPS nonsense turned out to be a faulty BT....I installed Mapopolis and had the same problem...three GPS softwares installed and all locked up.

Thanks for any advice you guys gave and be on the lookout for the Dell staff pilfering Aximsite for ideas.

Well in my case, I actually learned a lot in this site, is like a place to find out usefully info, and tips, beside the updated info about issues, is like the knowledge database for y Axim...I love the site.

I love this site too...it's the reason I bought an axim. i just think its funny that chatting with Dell gets nowhere and the only advice they have is to send me here. You would think that someone there knows something....they went and surfed for the idea. Gotta love Dell...they're sending out yet another unit so we'll see how the GOS works then.

Go Aximsite the number one reference source for Dell. :approve:

They acted real funny when I told them I was a member.

I hardly look at the Dell website for support issues. I first look at Aximsite.

Besides, Dell doesn't have Chris!

Yeah. I definitely don't fool around with Dell when it comes to support. Why? I have Aximsite.

I found this site before I even bought my X50v. It helped me decide between that and the iPaq 4000 series(i think)...the one with the touchpad.

anyway, this site is THE best for information and bug fixes.

Also, it didnt hurt that Dell shut down their forums.

Support staff at Dell and most other companies are encouraged to search up the solutions to problems on the web while they are talking to you.

Good for the community here, and this will only make it more popular.

Cheers

It’s true, as it seems forum members know much more than Dell support.

It would be an accomplishment just to understand what Dell support had suggested.

This is the same concept behind open source software. With our little bits of individual knowledge, we are able to aggregiate them into a single, intelligent entity that far outstrips any Help Desk script-reading tech.

The only reason I contact Dell is to get them to replace the unit.....believe I poured over the postings in here and tried dozens of different configurations before I contacted them...the point I was making is that the only constructive help they offered was hard resetting and the link to here. The post is meant to and I shall always praise this site for the community of goofballs who all like to use axims. :approve:

I guess I shoul have posted the first lines and you guys would ahve got the satirical bent of how crappy Dell support is....anyhoo they are sending another unit and we'll see if that works.
