X50v Sudden Death

This is weird... Yesterday I was dealing with my new Deluo GPS and pocket streets.

At the end of the day, I was going to input some info and my X50v didn't turn on. After several attempts... which included replacing the battery, soft reset and pluging it to a power source the PDA was DEAD! (No response)...

Then suddenly after 20mins or so... it started up giving me an error message 1617 involving pocket streets....

I guess it was something related to not finding the GPS attached.... Weird aH???? Very weird..... UFFFFFffff.... (Relief)

Make sure you fully charge it. It sounds like possibly the battery ran out.

It's a scary feeling when your axim won't come on no matter what you do. I've been there done that. In my case, the battery had run all the way down because it got turned on in my bag without me knowing it.

I have had a problem before with disconnecting the wired gps I use before stopping the program. It seems to hang the comm port which in turn seems to hang the pda.

Yeap.. I think that's the right issue here.... my battery was about 85% charged.... so I discarded the battery as the actual problem.
