Axim X51v Not syncing

I have been using an Axim X5 for the last couple years and I finally upgraded to the Axim X51v. I installed the software today and I cannot sync my axim with my CPU. When I plug in the USB cord no USB driver is seen in the device manager but I do see a network adapter. If I plug in my old cradle for my X5 it wants to work with AS 4.0. I have tried unistalling and reinstalling outlook and AS, as well as disabling the windows firewall. When I open my network connections my device is there under Local area connection 8. I cannot ping my device either I get an error message that says ping request could not find host. Does anyone have any suggestions I can try to be able to sync my new axim with my computer.

See if the
ActiveSync 4.0 USB Connection Troubleshooting Guide on M$ is any help. Also, you might want to upgrade to AS4.1. I think it fixes some of the connection problems.

I went to this site and read through some of the tips but none worked. I havae also gone to M$ and went through the active sync help and none of that worked. I can explore my device but can't connect, this is really perplexing

If you have windows firewall enabled, that may be the issue, try going to services and stopping windowsfirewall/internetsecurity

but if you turn off the fire wall and it workks restart the fire wall and re check you may have to teach the firewall.
with all the v's out there bring the firewall back asap :approve:

Again tried these this morning and got nothing. When I plug in my old Axim 5 a new USB category pops up in my device manager this does not occur when I plug in the new Axim x51v. Could I be missing a driver or did it not install properly? If so what driver am I missing and how do I go putting it in?

I'm having a similar problem when I try to sync. When I plug the device/cradle into the cpu's USB port, it pops up in the taskbar that new hardware is found and that it is an x51v. Then when I run ActiveSync it cannot connect. ?????

I have the same problem, when you go to device manager does it show a network adapter but no USB device? I have uninstalled and reinstalled everything and done it with my firewall done. I have a network connection but cannot ping. I am lost where to go.
