Double installation

Hi all, I'm not exactly sure to which forum this question belongs, so excuse me if it isn't in the correct one.

I am not a computer person.

Now, I have a home PC (where I do all my synch - mostly because it is associated with the internet) and a laptop (which has no access to the internet. I wanted to see if I could also have a synch through activesync on the laptop without bothering the home PC sync relationship.

Is there such thing as a secondary synch? Do you just install the activesync (3.8 since I am still with 2003SE) on the second unit and limit the sync thorugh its options?

Anything to be careful of?

thanks for all and any help

You can synch to either one or two computers without too much problem. I would suggest getting a second cable/cradle unless you don't mind unplugging the one that came with the unit and moving it from desktop to laptop and back as necessary. Install Outlook and Active Sync 4.1 if you have an X51v, 3.8 for all other models, on the laptop, plug in the cable and you are pretty much ready to go!

Good luck!

thanks so much the answer. I have a sepearate cable, indeed, and now I will try it. Does it matter if the versions of office/outlook are different? on my PC I have xp pro with office 2003 and on my notebook I have xp home with office XP.

thanks again!

Nope! The different versions of Outlook shouldn't matter.
