The only way to install was to install on a different machine, and copy all the files and registry settings manually. Now it works fine, but the install mystery remains...
You could try installing to a different memory, right? Which memory are you using? A card or the PDA RAM?

Yeah, any solution to this would be appreciated. I cannot upgrade to A06 until there is a solution for this.

Oh I tried all possible ways of install/uninstall, including safe mode from SPB Plus - no good. Only "Manual" installation via file copy+registry input...

I had the problem you had. And the registry hack solved it.

I did install the adobe reader in x51, if I use with the switcher bar, it hang few times, and it also casue the bluetooth gps totally disable. I am not sure is this the switch bar problem or the reader 2.0 problem, once I hard reset the system without the reader, everything is ok.
therefore I am still looking for should I install adobe reader 2.0 again or not???

Here are some other PDF viewers for the Pocket PC that I have found:
FoxItReader (Free)
Xpdf (Free)
Microsoft Reader (Free after activation)
Pocket Quick View (Paid)
Adobe Acrobat Reader 2.0 (Free)

Hopefully one of those works well for the people with WM5 problems. :approve:

I think you may be mistaken.

I got adobe v2 to work fine on an x50v with wm5 (installed to main mem) and activated the Tweaks 2k vga mode without any problems by the way

I just did... just starting out with wm5 and am putting most things in the internal memory.

Previously in wm2003 it lived in BIS

Yup, you are right. It was a mistake and for some reason I thought it handled it. But, the other ones should be fine.

For the people using adobe. No problems with blurry text? A lot of people including myself had to use the forced vga hack in order get the text legible. Just curious if I am missing something.

Strange. I've read about foks having readability problems on their X51v with Adobe. But on mine the texr was clear and sharp UNTIL I used the forced VGA fix fir Reader. Then the icons were so small as no not be usable and text was not as nice. Remove the Forced VGA fix and all was well. Text is great.

Is there any way to speed up Adobe and make it go faster on WM5 x50v?
