can you tell a X50v that has been updated and downgraded?

I am still toying w/ the idea of upgrading to an X50v. I do not, however, want anything to do w/ the problems of WM5. I am thinking of buying off of ebay. but my fear is that someone who upgraded and figured out what a POS WM5 is, then down graded... and found that the processor is still running bad now, might try to sell it on ebay.

I want one that is pure Wm2003se w/o ever having been "upgraded" to WM5 then brought back down.

Is there a tell tail way to know if somone has done this?

Mike

Because it flashes the entire ROM, I would probably say that there would be no way to tell. You could always ask the seller.

that is sad... because my guess is that they would be selling it, because it no longer has the performance it once had..... and they probably won't be too willing to tell you that. Especially if you can't prove it one way or another.... one of the risks of E-bay... but since dell doesn't sell the X51v w/ a wm2003se option.....

Most people if asked a direct pointed question would probably give you a straight answer, but I'm also sure their are some that might lie. There is somebody that would buy it if you didn't so I can't imagine they would need to lie..
