Visual Studio 2005 deployment

Hi,
I am software developer and I try to make MS Visual Studio 2005 and my X51v work all together.
I made a very simple WM 5.0 Pocket PC Application from Visual Studio.
When I try to deploy the app to the X51v (to be able to debug it), Visual Studio displays the following error:

Error 1 Post-deploy error 0x80070005 returned after calling '\Windows\wceload.exe /noui \Windows\System_SR_enu_wm.cab'. Device Connectivity Component

The error code 0x80070005L indicates an access denied error.

It could be some security problem and I would like to know if some of you, guys, are involved into Pockect PC software developement here and if some of you are using Visual Studio 2005?

Thank you for your answers and your help,
Christophe

You are probably mistaking the Windows CE 5.0 project in VS2005 for a Windows Mobile 5.0 project. In order to create a true Windows Mobile 5.0 PocketPC project you will need to install the WM5 SDK. Follow the directions carefully and once you are done you should have a new project type list under the Smart Device node in the "New Project" wizard. It will install new emulators also.

Follow this link for the SDK: Windows Mobile 5.0 SDK for PocketPC

It is confusing to see the CE 5.0 there in the project types as VS2005 just came out and you would think that the WM5 support and SDK would have been preloaded as an option during the VS2005 install.

Hope this helps!

Thank you for your answer and for the link!
I have already installed the Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC SDK on my computer.
I am using Visual Studio 2005 VSTD (release version).
My sample VS project is a Visual C# / Smart Device / Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC / Device Application (1.0).
I am now involved in Windows Mobile 5.0 Smartphone development. I had to unactivate the security settings om my smartphone device in order to be able to deploy and to debug over it from Visual Studio.
Regarding the error code returned by Visual Studio (0x80070005), it looks that the problem should be the same with the WM 5.0 Pocket PC...
Have you been able to do it?
Christophe

I've not had any problems deploying to my Axim x51v after installing the WM5 SDK. I don't have any other WM5 devices to try, so I can't help you out there.
