Reminder alarm 8:00AM, although I'm using PI!
Hi All,
I switched to PI a few days ago (really a great software), but I was suprised to discover that my main problem was not resolved:
When I set a task for a day (or more) ahead, with a reminder for a specific time, the alarm goes off in the PPC at 8:00AM, even now that I have PI... :rolling:
Any idea?
Thanks in advance, guys!

LoL. All you have to do is when you set a task, make sure to set the reminder to the time and date you want... OR, just say None.

Go to START/SETTINGS/SYSTEM/CLOCK & ALARMS/ALARMS and uncheck the one set for 8AM.

I was not sure about that since the original post stated "with a reminder for a specific time" which presumably was different from 8AM.

Tap Start, then Calendar. Hit "Menu">Options>Appointments tab. Clear the Set Reminders for new Items check box. This defaults to "no reminder" whenever you set an appointment, but you can override it individually.

I think you didn't understand me...
- I set a new task in the table computer.
- set the date to tomorrow, and the reminder time to 11:00AM.
- sync the PPC.
- the next day, on the day of the task, the reminder alarm goes off at 8:00AM.
Thanks!

Is the time correct on both your Ax and the desktop pc? The time on your handheld is updated when you sync to the pc. If the alarm is exactly 3 hours off, maybe the time is 3 hours off?

Nope. I have an Otterbox. A model 3000 in yellow.

That or perhaps the timezones set differently or the DST settings also?

Hi,
It's not a time zone thing. It doesn't matter what hour I set the reminder to, it rings at 8:00AM.

In PocketInformant, what do you have set for the first and fourth options on this screen?

If you set up the same task on the PDA with the reminder at 11AM rather than on the PC the reminder is at 11AM, correct?
And conversely, when you set the reminder for 10AM on the PC, does the PPC alarm subsequently change to 7AM or remain at 8AM?
Finally, please double- or triple-check your date setting on both the PC and the PDA. On the PC under START/Control Panel/Date and Time are the date and time set correctly? Under the timezone tab is that correct? On the PDA under Start/Settings/System/Clocks & Alarms is the time set correctly? Is the timezone? Is the correct one checked (Home vs Visiting)?
