x51v - after pressing the on/off, how long does it take before you can start using it

I read somewhere that it takes people 1 or more minutes before they can start using their Axim x51v after they press the on/off switch. I think there are some problems for those. However, some people said 3 secs or so. In reality, how long does it take for most of you? I would think it should be immediately. Is it true?

Thanks

My turns on immediately, the only time it takes a few seconds is right after I change my battery (because it has to restart). If you change the settings in power to "full power off" you will have to wait because it restarts every time that you turn it on.

Yep thats right. There are a few power down options that will determine the time it takes to return to full active use of your Axim.

(1)If its a Stand-By mode its about 1-2 seconds.

(2)If its a full power down it will take about 1 minute to power up the unit to the Today Screen.

To adjust or see your power settings goto:
Start->Settings->System->Power

about a minute if it's totally off. About 2 secs if it's in standby mode, but then another 10-15 sec before the screen responds.

I need my today plug-ins like a Dead fan needs "party favours," so my start up is in the 5-7 second range. But I don't mind. I only ever start it up to check email, tasks, rss and my bank balance and getting that all on one screen makes the wait worthwhile (it's like having the world's most retarted hands-free navigation! woo!)

It was taking me 7 to 10 seconds, until I turned off all card and memory meters and tweaked Active Sync not to always start up on its own. Now it's right around a second or less.
