Well, I got the white-screen of death. Not that deadly though, fixable with a softreset. However, I think the white screen and all other bugs are from the software installed. I had a clean X51v for like a week and nothing happened. In fact, I thought I was lucky to get a bug free X51v. Until today when I installed some games from the Dell CD. This, I think, is where the problems are at and if somebody else is having problems, uninstall the games and see if the problems still exsist. I installed a few other stuff but they seem to be okay so far.
i had a white screen one time... but instead of acting hasily, i waited it out like a minute and it turned out that it was just hanging a bit... probably after i installed ll the new programs and stuff... try waiting it out a bit next time.
I've had it, came to the same conclusion (apps cause it) so I removed
the offending app (old demo version of Pocket Informant), waited for
WM5 version PI 2005 Rev 4 to be released and tried again... works like a charm now,
so I bought it.
Best idea seems to be install ONE thing at a time, wait 24 hrs see if bugs
appear, if not go on, if so remove or replace with an alternative...
So far I've found:
WSOD - apps that aren't really WM5 can cause it
Battery Drain bug - Themes that aren't WM5 can cause it (VGA/non-VGA doesn't seem to matter)
CF/SD going away - apps again, but only certain ones as they don't co-inside with WSOD always, don't have any candidates to list.
At one point I did the "new toy, load it up" thing, and got all the
bugs WHAM. I've cleaned house and are adding things back one at a time.

Just a quick tip (posted in the below thread). Just turn on your Axim before put it in cradle!

Slow down on the blame-game ;) As nice as it would be to blame Microsoft for shoddy third-party programmers, there's nothing they can do about them (without killing off the entire platform *cough* Apple *cough*). If it worked prior to applications being loaded, remove the offending apps and pester that developer.
Although, I found this same problem on my wife's x50 (mid). I thought I had found wifi was on, I let the Axim turn off naturally (on battery power), and docked the Axim I'd get the white screen. A soft reset did the trick, but I just didn't feel like waiting.
