Hi, guys!!!
I have a really big problem with my X50v. I recently downloaded the ROM images from the first post and yesterday tried the SD Flasher function. Flashing WM2003SE without changing the bootloader worked like a charm. I however wanted to test flashing to WM5 although I had already done that with Active Sync before using the update CD and I wasn't satisfied with the performance and stability of the new OS in its current implementation on X50v (I've also signed the petition). However that appeared to be my biggest mistake as after I updated the bootloader and saw the message to hard reset the device, my X50v suddenly became absolutely dead. Right now I am not able to start nor the SD flasher neither the Diagnostic utility. And this is not due to the fact that I am not using the correct timing for the buttons as before the incident I was able to invoke both modes without any second tries.
I am sure I haven't messed up the boot loader as after flashing it I got a success screen advising to hard-reset the device. The only way I could mess it up is if the files published in the first post (and particularly the WM5 bootloader) are corrupted. The device does not turn at all (I guess that is normal with a WM5 bootloader and a WM2003SE ROM Image) but the service modes (SD flash and Diagnostics) do not work, too. If I pace it in the cradle the battery would charge but that is all.
Does anyone know if the bootloader for WM5 avaiable from the first post is functional or not and how would it be possible to revive my device. I would be really grateful if any resolution is possible. Otherwise my X50v would be just a fancy piece of plastic.
@Zhen, I can re-upload the files once I get back from the office but I need a confirmation from the author - domme that the bootloaders are not corrupt and if someone has tested them.

All files have been tested successfully on my device before I published them.
You can find the files at http://rapidshare.de/users/1VXNG .

Domme you are the saviour of many dead axims you must help pleeaase i and probably many others have an axim x51v with a06 rom which is dead it is stuck on the dell logo and thats it it wont even turn off one must pull of the battery as it won't activesync or do anything one must use the sd loader to reflash the OS as i get from your threads the bootloader is fine i guess as i can enter the diagnostic mode you talked about
(though the flash rom test does'nt run i guess cause i didn't put any SD card with files to flash) (so i need not reflash the bootloader correct?) i didn't make a rom backup when the unit was alive (as i should, though i get that the util is not x51v compatible) and i must have a rom flash of even an old version a01 so that i can revive the unit and then reflash it with activesync to a06 in other words whats going on with us X51V guys when will you be able to help us thanks

- testdump.exe - rom dump ok, but appears to start at the os level and does not include the bootloader
- osloader-1.5.6.exe - errors messages when the utility is run. No useful dumps created.
Does anyone have any other ideas to get a dump of the device, including the bootloader? Other than that I suppose the next step is to have a look at the grabit and testdump source to see if a fix can be applied.

so if you say at the os level you mean it can be used for flashing only the os w/o the bootloader if so this is a need please upload it somewhere as many of us has dead x51v with a06 needing to reflash using SD loader thanks :approve:

Hi Yosmo52. I'm a newbie but I tried couple of things. And I think it might help you a bit. I had a same unit with exactly same problem. Soon I found these information, I forced my X51 into SD boot mode, left it in a cradle and kept serching on internet for X51 flash image. About 20 minute later X51 turned off itself and it tuend into $300 paper weight~ -_-;;;; I tried hard reset, soft reset, SD boot mode, removing battery, left overnight without battery, etc. Didn't work. All it gives me is just a quick blink of LCD backlight when I push the reset while trying hard reset within cradle. What I want to say is.. since our X51 is really not stable you better not go into SD flash mode until you find a good fix and ready to flash. I didn't have patience, and I killed my X51 ^^;;; Well... It's just from my experence ^^;;; I guess our X51 keep loosing some of its data while we think it is just stuck on Dell logo.
Since I can't go into SD flash mode anymore, my hope is someone come out with Jtag instruction. Removing BGA chip and programming outside is way too much for me ^^;;;(Don't even know it is possible. I'm a newbie -_-;;)

I redownloaded the files and compared the bootloader with the one I have on my SD card and which I flashed on my Axim. They are absolutely the same so I suppose I have a valid WM5 bootloader on my device and a WM2003SE ROM Image. Nevertheless my X50v is completely dead and it won't turn at all (SD flasher and Diagnostic tool do not work either). Does anyone know a possible way to repair it? Domme, when you have tested flashing WM5 over your WM2003SE have you entered the SD flasher from the first try after flashing the bootloader and have you tested if it would work if the device is only hard reset after the procedure? I am asking this because it is theoretically possible that I have not pressed the SD flasher button combination from the first try and then my device just got completely dead?!!

I was trying to use the wm5 image on wm2003 but unfortunately I ended with dead pda.
I have reached step 6 successfully, but once I pressed Wireless + Power + Reset Nothing appears on the screen ... it remains blank with the power light off....
Please note that I had tough time trying to get the boot loader screen by pressing Wireless + Power + Rest I always got the hard rest screen. I tried almost 30 times till I got the screen. But now after reaching step 6, even if press hard rest or Wireless + Power + Reset nothing appears ( the device remain power off)
Any suggestion please.
Thanks and Best Regards
