I really need to get my hands on the x50v WM2005 image also. I have the upgrade CD, but I cannot find it and the progress bar on my my Axim is freezing at 80%.
Thanks for the help!
---------------------EDIT------------------------
Okay, I was able to find my upgrade CD, can I use the image file on the CD to fix my x50v? If so, how do I create the CRC file I need to go with the image.
Thanx

any english image for X50v
I have an X50v with WinMobile 5 in spanish in it.
I need WinMobile 2003se image to get it back to "best performance".
Or an English WinMobile 5 so I can go back to WM2003se using the DELL downgrade (because it won´t work while me PPC is in Spanish).
The links at the beginning take me to easyshare but I can´t find the files there.
Can someone who got them send one to me to: totono@yahoo.com ???
I´m desperate, I´ve tried a lot of stuff from other threads, even Hex editinig the files to install the OS in a diferent language or make it belive it is being updated. I even wen´t through a complete process that seemed to be working, but in the end, WM5 spanish would´t come off.
I allways end up back here, in this thread, as my only and last hope. If only I can get to download the files...
Help,
Thanks,
Totono

My axim 51v was in rom A04FR and I ask Dell to get back to A01FR, they gave me a link to exactly the same file as mentionned above : DiAd_K_A01_12220500FRA_HC.nb0 and DiAd_K_A01_12220500FRA_HC_nb0.crc and how to flash an Axim with ROM on SD card.
I've done this with a Dell Technician and now my PDA could not pass the DELL logo. He says that it doesn't work all the time.
It was always garanted so they will exchange with a new one.
:attn: If you want to try downgrade your axim, try this only if you are under warranty.:attn:

Can a *.RIS file help
Hi
Maybe I can load one of my older images using an SD card.
I have an old *.RIS file of my first version of WM2003se
Can I turn this *.RIS file to usable *.nb0 and *.crc files?

Need X50 Rom
Hello,
I have read through the entire thread. I get it, it works and I have done it before. All of the links to the roms seem to have expired. If someone could direct me to an ftp or whatever. I need a WM2K3 rom for an AXIM X50.
Please help
Thanks
Dave

Desperately in need of X50 WM5 ROM nb0 file!!
I have read the posts in this thread and looked everywhere in this forum and still haven't found a link for downloading a WM5 ROM-image for the X50. I'm currently running on WM5 on my X50 but, after having used it for a couple of months it now hangs at 80% even after hard boot.
There are only three options for me left in order to get it working as I have concluded from this thread.
Options by preferece:
1. Find a WM5 nb0 extracted from an X50 and flash that onto the X50 with an SD-card or,
2. Somehow extract a WM5 nb0 myself from one of the (AximX50_A_WM5_A01EN.IMG" or "AximX50_B_WM5_A01EN.IMG)-files on the WM5 update CD and use that file to flash the X50 or,
3. Flash my X50(currently using the WM5 Bootloader) with W2k3 Bootloader, then flash W2k3 onto my X50 and then, if having any inspiration left, continue to install the WM5 upgrade.
Firstly, I would like someone to kindly upload a WM5 nb0-file for the X50.
Secondly, can someone tell me if it is even possible to extract an nb0-file from DELL's WM5 update CD, and in case this is possible how do I do it?
Finally, I would like to add some useful information about creating those CRC-files used while flashing with the SD-card. In order to create a CRC file you just have to create a txt file containing 8 numbers and which you then rename it as DUMMO has instructs in the first post.
Any contributions to solving this issue would be much appreciated by all X50 owners with WM5 installed, rest assured!
Kind regards, cozmoztintin

Interesting and useful thread
Hola gringos!
I found a very useful thread on the forum "Tutorial : How to revive a bricked x51(v) using Domme's SD ROM loader tutorial." http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?t=137015
If you've got a dead X51(v), an WM5 IMG-file but no nb0- or crc-file that thread should be rather useful.
However, I'm still not feeling better because I'm in possession of an X50(no v). At least now I know that it is possible to extract a nb0-file from an IMG-file which is promising. The first version of the program in that thread seems to be able to extract an nb0-file from any IMG file but there are only two file lenghts given and they are both for the X51(v).
Perhaps someone who is technically familiar with the X50 could figure out what file length should be used with the AximX50_A_WM5_A01EN.IMG and AximX50_B_WM5_A01EN.IMG files? Btw, I've already tried the 41680896 file length mentioned in the link, the update was successful according to SD-flash but my device did not start which means that the image created with IMG2nb0 has the wrong file length or that the MG2nb0 can't convert X50 ROMs .
Also, if you want to try mixturing with differnt file lengths yourself, this will probably not cause any problems on your X50. I've noticed that my device is still functional after having failed with several image updates. It seems you can fail updating the ROM an infinite number of times as long as you don't fail with the Bootloader, which is why I don't dare to change back to the WM2k3 Bootloader :exc: .

I have the solution for the X50!
Good morning everybody!
I have finally managed to fix my X50(no v) with the help of this forum.
I downloaded the IMG2nb0 utility and experimented a bit and now I have a functional X50. I used the 41680896 with the AximX50_B_WM5_A01EN.IMG-file for my conversion.
After having flashed it according to DUMMO's instructions it now works.
I have uploaded the nbo and the crc and you can download it from here: http://www.sendmefile.com/00470669 alternative downloadsite: http://rapidshare.de/files/36225986/...01_EN.rar.html
Remember this is the WM5 image which cannot be applied to your X50 with WM2k3 until you change your Booloader to WM5! However, there is no risk involved if you should do this by accident..Simply flash it again with your WM2k3 nbo-file to revive it.
Good luck!

Yes I got this message when I didn't have the correct image for my X50. After I got the image-file designed for my X50 the stall disappered.

Thanks to all, I have recovered the "bricked" X50V!
Since it was 2 months out of warranty, Dell had offered me a refurb with 90day warranty for $250. quite a deal, eh?
By the way, after WM5 reflashing, I went on the Dell site and reflashed WM2003SE. It is a huge upgrade as many have said.
Thanks again
