I have 2 questions about this image loader thingee.

1) I'm assuming this is a way to run your axim from you SD card instead of the BIS. If this is so, can I still run my Axim like normal without the SD card when I'm done?

2)Will this work with a SDHC card?

1.no. it is a way to load new images into the bis.It will hard reset to the new image. yes you can remove the sd card after its done updating.

2.no.

Thank you, DarkDudae

Once again I voice appreciation for the excellent feedback/support provided by aximsite users who so generously provide information.

I had been trying to flash from the SD card, and just could not get the wireless+power+reset procedure to work. But you guys kept posting how to do it until I finally understood it and got it to work. Thank you.

That worked for me even without the cradle.. :approve:
Ok, well, if that worked for you, then you didn't have nearly the same problem as me.

I've tried every button combination known to man and nothing works......you'll notice up above that I clarified how to do the SD loader thing myself.......

but now even that doesn't work for me....

Anyone else? there's got to be something that can be done....

Tamater, it sounds like you've tried everything, but I'll offer this anyway just in case . . . For me the trick for getting flashing to work was to find this really awkard position with my left hand so I could actually push wireless and power simulataneously (not one and then the other). When I got that accomplished then I quickly pressed and released the reset with the stylus in my right hand while continuing to hold down the wireless+power. Suddenly (while still holding down wireless+power) the white flash screen appeared.

Hope this helps.

thanks for the suggestion, but I really have tried everything.....I actually got the SD Loader to work 3 separate times.....so I know I could get it to work if it would work.....someone said it sounds like I should have done the SD loader instead of a normal hard reset after I'd just flashed the wm5 bootloader image.....and it's the incompatibility between it and the 2003 main image that's causing the problem....

Wrong thread, this one is more for x50 axim. You cannot upgrade from aku 1.1 to 2.3.1 via SD because they use different bootloader, upgrade must be done via the regular usb method, you need to reflash with an aku 1.1 image to recover.

i have a little problem with flashing my dell. before upgrading on him was wm2003se and i have downloaded a05 version of 2003se from dell web page. i tried to upgrade to wm5 and renamed WM50_B_A01_X50v_WM5_ENG_nb0.crc to DiMa_B_A01_X50v_WM5_ENG_nb0.crc and WM50_B_A01_X50v_WM5_ENG.nb0 to DiMa_B_A01_X50v_WM5_ENG.nb0. upgrading boot loader went successuful and after i press wl+pw+reset it starts sd loader but he cant see any os image (WM50_K_A01_X50v_WM5_ENG.nb0).

i tried to copy following files on sd card but he only see first image (boot loader image):
WM50_B_A01_X50v_WM5_ENG.nb0
WM50_B_A01_X50v_WM5_ENG_nb0.crc
WM50_K_A01_X50v_WM5_ENG.nb0
WM50_K_A01_X50v_WM5_ENG_nb0.crc

how to make him to run and see os image? should i download and where a05 version of boot loader for wm5 or this is very stupid question?

help
