x50v hung up

I am trying to use the sd card solution, but all the links to the os files don't seem to be working. I am on Windows 2003, can I get an active link to to the files so that I can set up the sd card. Thanks for any help you can give.

I've been through the same desperate situation for quite a long time. I have even sent PM and no answers. I've been a member of this site fo quite a while and I've been helped many times, but I've noticed that since Axim line fell down help and support have reduced along with it. I hope someone have the kindness to share those files we need for bringing our old but good devices back to live!!!

Sorry, I only have WM5 nb0 files for you. I once had WM2003 SE nb0 files, but my link died and I didn't think of backing them up since I don't own an X50v.

Hi i would like to ask you Domme you seem to be an expert, about an issue i encountered while trying to update the rom of my x50 from A04 to A00 WM5, at the beginning it seemed to work but right after the i performed the reset that asked me to to do it failed completely and now doesn't boot anymore at all.

Now i removed the battery and hope it will come back to life!

What you would Recommend to do in this case?

Thank You!!

Domme isn't active on aximsite anymore (to my knowledge). However, I will be more than happy to help you (since I have been dealing with this of late). If you have an X50(mid), please see my sticky "http://www.aximsite.com/boards/x50-x...nb0-files.html" to revive your axim.

For the record, you must upgrade in steps to get WM5 A02 rom. Activate the SD Loader using the instructions and then tell me what the title for the SD Loader (ex. SD Loader A02 or SD Loader A01). From there, I will try to help you.

Well i figured out how to activate the image loader and i read "SD Loader A02" i tried to put in the sd some os rom .nb0 files i extracted from an rom .img file but the loader didn't recognize them; maybe i need also an bootloader rom .nb0 file? i don't know where to get that yet.

Thanks.

Restoring bricked x50

Hi steven855; Is this the Procedure i have to follow?

<< If you bricked your X50(mid) with a WM5 rom trying to downgrade to WM2003 SE

Step 1: Your procedure is similiar to the updating 2003 SE rom one
Step 1a:Get os and bootloader rom image at FileNotFound
Step 2: Extract files to any folder using Winrar
Step 3: Go to the folder where you extrated the files in the RAR archive
Step 4: Find the 4 files that have X50 in the filename (should be 1 (has a filename like DiMa_K_A05_X50_WM2k3_ENG) .nb0 file and (same naming conventions) 1 .crc file) and transfer them to the SD Card
Step 4a: Take the bootloader file and it's crc file (should be 1 (has a filename like DiMa_B_A05_X50_WM2k3_ENG) .nb0 file and (same naming conventions) 1 .crc file) and transfer them to the SD Card
Step 4b: Rename the bootloader file (on the SD card) from "DiMa_B_A05_X50_WM2k3_ENG.nb0" to "WM50_B_A05_X50_WM2k3_ENG.nb0"
Step 4c: Rename the bootloader crc file (on SD Card) from "DiMa_B_A05_X50_WM2k3_ENG_nb0.crc" to "WM50_B_A05_X50_WM2k3_ENG_nb0.crc"
Step 5: Take SD Card out of SD Card reader and put it in the axim
Step 6: Hold the power button and the wireless button at the same time, and quickly tap the soft reset button (little hole on back of axim near DELL logo and press it with something like a pencil or pen) 2 or 3 times
Step 6a: Watch screen for SD Card loader (should see the hard reset screen, but wait a few seconds until it shows up)
Step 7: choose the file "WM50_B_A05_X50_WM2k3_ENG.nb0" and follow any on-screen directions
Step 7a: repeat steps 6 and 6a
Step 7b: choose the file "DiMa_K_A05_X50_WM2k3_ENG.nb0" and follow any on-screen directions
Step 8: watch your axim come back to life and enjoy your axim>>

If yes, i would like to know if are there other links to these files or i can build my own files with the "IMG2NB0F.exe" from dell's image files.

Thanks.

Yes, this is the set of instructions you should use.
