I've run through all the steps to create the os rom and ensure that the names of all the files are correct but the SD updater (A04) does not give me the option to select the images.

On the root of the SD card is the following:

WM50_K_A01_X51v_WM5_ENG.nb0 (34560k)
WM50_K_A01_X50v_WM5_ENG_nb0.crc (blank file with 12345678 in)

As the x51v has the Windows mobile 5 installed I thought that the above should be selected, instead the device reports "No suitable image found" -> "Update failed"

Could the naming of the files be different for the x51v?

I've tried a number of variations such as

WM51_K_A01_X51v_WM5_ENG.nb0 (34560k) etc but to no avail.

If I name the file diag.nb0 this is recognised correctly.

Anyone managed to get it to work on an axim x51v if so is the naming different?
could you send me the bootloader image to domme2812@gmail.com please?
i will then have a look at whether dell has changed the naming...

Is there some way to check what bootloader I currently have installed in my 50v?
You can easily see this by looking at what filenames your bootloader diplays in the list for SD flashing ;-)

Okay guys.. i found out what your SD Image Update Loader problem with the Power + Wireless + Reset Problem is.

To get to the Image Update Screen.
hold WIRELESS + POWER
then press the reset button WITHOUT letting off WIRLESS + POWER
then you will get to the screen =D

I upgraded to WM5 2 weeks ago. All was working okish....

then the x50v froze one day and now just hangs at 80% on boot.

I have copied the x50v Ao1 bootloader and img files to an SD card.

After doing power+wireless+reset......

My x50v just goes to the screen "SD image Update A01"

Does not load the bootloader..... or do much else realy.

What is the action button? How do you know when you need to push it?

If all you want to do is the replash WM5 then there is no need to reflash the boot loader since it's already there. Just reflash WM5 again!

Thought as much, the unit doesnt do any thing other than displaying the screen "SD image Update A01"

When do I push action? What is the action button?

If the card is not in, it says can not find image....

With the img or nb0 file + crc file in it does not seem to do anything other than display the screen

It seems that the grab it tool is giving a corrupted dump, perhaps this is an x51v or WM5 issue.

I downloaded another dump tool on:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/view...r=asc&start=75

Called TestDump.rar, this utility allows you to enter the path to save the dump to and enter the size of dump. After saving a 128mb and checking the dump it now looks much better.

I'm going to re-create the os and bootloader images and I'll see how it goes.

Ok, re-done the bootloader and os images with the new dump and still getting the "No suitable Image found"

Domme, I've sent you the bootloader image again.

I think you are right. I had an X50v bricked and I used the SD Flash as instructed by Domme to unbrick it and the method worked. Now the same procedure on an Axim X51v gives me the same message that you received, of No Suitable Images Found. So now we have to wait for Domme to analyze the bootloader of the X51v, but definitely something has changed...

"SD image Update A05"
later,
"No suitable image found."

My x51v have a06 version of rom.
After made rom update to a06, It goes trouble,
Now it shows me only dell logo until battery is exhausted.

I would really like to analyze it, but no one was able to dump it from his device yet. GrabIt and I think it was TestDump do not work correctly on the X51 (perhaps because of the different flash type?!)
So if anyone was able to extract his bootloader successfully, please send it to domme2812@gmail.com

BTW: I am also still looking for the German Version of WM5, for some testing purposes, if you have it, please contact me.
