Mad What A06 Update??? Most of the common x51v problems are showing up more frequent ...

I have been running my x51v for two days and the only problem that his software fixes is the occasional disappearing of SD/CF card. Other common x51v problems are occuring more frequently than when I was running on A04. Here they are:

1. couldn't turn on the unit... needed to do a soft reset twice.

2. power drained from 100% to 0 overnight for no reason once

3. running applications got closed for no apparent reason many times

4. my A06 backup/restore ceased to work after the update

I have been using my x51v for about 1 month and the above problems are new to me after the update.

After 24 hours of using the update my x51v now has problems.(I never had them with A04).

Firstly I didnt switch it off since updating the Rom to A06. It was just off. And I couldnt turn it back on. Had to do a soft reset. Battery was at 74% at that point. So no I didnt have a dead battery.

A06 is a seriously screwed up update. Id expect things to get better not worse.

Dell please get your act together. I can tolerate most things but not an update that makes things worse.

EDIT: The original poster is right the only appparent fix A06 does do is keep the CF/SD cards detectable always. With BT off or on the cards still are there.

This update doesn't fix the CF disappearing act, BTW.

Have you guys gone thru the Activesync fake server creation trick so that you can change syncing to manual?

This will fix the no turn on issue, and the disappearing cf card problem - at least for me and lots of others that have posted on the site.

Give it a try if you haven't already. Failing that get on the phone with Dell support.

p.s. I updated to A06 and left activesync at default settings to begin with to test it out, but the problems soon came back - Applying the fake server trick worked a treat again.
