Powering on Question

I turned my device off about 8 hours ago, I came back and tried to turn it on (by hitting the power button) and nothing happend. I had to press the soft reset button for it to come back on.

Is this normal? Is there something I'm not getting here? Any suggestions?

No its not normal. I had something similar about 10 minutes ago. In my case my unit was on all the time and was apparently dead when I tried to use it. Wouldnt turn on so I had to soft reset it.

Im using an x51v running the new buggy A06 update.

Well I'll keep an eye on it, and if I for some reason have to soft reset every time I turn it off for more than a few hours - I may have to send it back for a replacement.

So if its not normal, could it be a fluke, or is it just my n00bness.

As I understand, when I just quickly press the power button it basically hibernates (turns off). When I press it quickly again it should come right back on shouldn't it?

Is there really a way to "completely" turn it off, or just pressing the power button quickly is the only way?

If you havent fiddled with the power settings it should turn on immediately from hibernate mode. If it doesnt theres something odd.

If you want to full power down.
Go to:
Start->Settings->System->Power->Power Button

You'll have the option to full power down when pressing the power button for a prolonged period.

Either way a simple click of the power button should bring it back correct?

If its a simple power off (hibernate) it shouldn't really drain the battery more than a few percentages could it? Because it should have been near 100% when I powered off, and I wanted to make sure it wouldn't turn on because of the battery being completely drained.

My x50v does this too... but I don't have an option to fiddle with the power button.

Do a forum search - this is a well known "issue" and has been discussed

It hasn't happened lately. Is this a well known issue that happens occaionally, or is this a well known issue that is on some units that means I probably need to send it back?

I had this, I thought BT solved it but then now that I'm using A06, I havent had it yet. I turned Error Reporting off and that solved the white screen of death, so it might solve this as well.
