Software upgrade to WM5 / Axim upgrade question....

As I prepare to upgrade from the X5 to the X51v, I have a question about software. I know I need to get WM5 apporved software for the applications I use.

Should I buy the upgrades that provide WM5 support but load it on my working X5 and update the database there, and then transfer the database file to the X51v after I've loaded the software there?

Or, should I load the new software only on the X51v, then transfer the old database from the X5 to the X51v, and let the X51v update the database?

Best practice is to update the existing machine, and take advantage of any transition code that is built in to the application. But also check the documentation for each app, and see what they suggest.
