Hello, I was just wondering if it was possible to store video files, converted using Pocket DivX Encoder, onto the Axim or onto an SD card without using ActiveSync?
I've tried copying the converted files directly using an SD card reader, however I get an error when trying to play the video files under The Core Pocket Media Player. The error is something about invalid format or something to that effect. Previously when I used ActiveSync to place AVI video files onto my Axim and SD card TCPMP played them fine. I am wondering if this is due to the "Converting" process that occurs when using ActiveSync to copy these files.
Is there any other programs that can be used to perhaps convert my shrunk AVIs to be able to play under TCPMP or is ActiveSync my only option?
I would truly be thankful and appreciative it if someone were to get back to me on this issue.
I don't think it would've matter. What format are you converting your video? I don't believe TCPMP plays divx, but I could very well be wrong.
One thing I'm sure about is using a card reader should'nt have matter.
Hope you'll find a solution...

TCPMP plays DivX/Xvid files fine... It's just that I don't currently have access to my USB cradle and was wondering if there was a way to simply copy the files onto my Axim and have them play fine under TCPMP...
I use a card reader to transfer files made using that very program BOZZY and it works fine, perhaps a dodgy card reader?

So far it seems I can copy AVIs (using the SD card reader) that have not been converted via the Pocket PC Divx Encoder (ones that are around 170+ MB) and they work fine... However if I try simply to copy an AVI file that has been converted by Pocket PC Divx Encoder and try playing it in TCPMP I get an error: "Player: \SD Card\FileName.avi Unknown file format!"
I'd recommend encoding your videos on your desktop with VirtualDubMod. I've been able to get some full 640x480 videos running with no frame loss in DivX and XviD, needless to say I'm very happy ;).
Are you sure that file isnt corrupted?? Because I've had that happen to me before...

Can't be cause they open and run if I try opening them using Windows Media Player...
How fast is it to re-encode AVIs under VirtualDubMod that are 320 x 240? Cause when I've tried re-encoding before it took forever on my AMD64 desktop...
Wanted to add it's happened to multiple files, including files that I originally had converted via Pocket DivX Encoder and copied to the Axim and then copied back to my PC (then copied back to my Axim via the SD card/reader) and simply files that were converted via Pocket DivX Encoder.
Well I've tried using VirtualDub to shrink the files and copy the shrunk files to the Axim via an SD card reader and I get a file format error... Is there really no other way aside from using ActiveSync to have these files actually run within TCMPC?
Have you actually tried using ActiveSync to transfer these files? The reason I am asking is that if you did, and the video files still doesn't work then you can be sure that it is your PDA's player that is having a problem recognizing the encoding of that file. In my experience however, transferring media files using Activesynce, sd card transfers, wifi network transfers etc. doesn't make a difference.
