I have about 150 of these devices. I need to change the activesync and also shut off some buttons. Any whay to do that programmatically? (I am posting the same question on the Dveleopers site)

Server Address: fake
Tap Next
User name: fake
Password: fake
Domain: fake
(Ticking save password or going into the Advanced menu makes no difference, so no need to bother).
Tap Next
Untick all of the 'Data you want to synchronise' options
Tap Finish

How do I do the server trick if the "ADD SERVER SOURCE" is greyed out to begin with??

That picture does not look any thing like the ActiveSync windo I have. Mine has only selections at the bottom part of the screen. 'Sync' on the left part and 'Menu' on the right side of the bottom screen. I have a X51V with A06 ROM update installed with ActiveSync 4.1 revision level.

SPB Software has a program that will allow you to "clone" a device over and over -- pretty easy. Check it out at www.spbsoftware.com.

Unable to get a server-assigned IP address

Thanks for a great Axim site and a great solution. The "solved all my problems" appear to outnumber "still having problems" 3 to 1. And most of the "1's" appear to be x50's.

Several differences I want to note from the instructions on the sticky:
1. My Active Sync program is not in my program folder, but right under "Today" on the "Start" screen.
2. My "Schedule" menu item was not dimmed. I was able to access and change it without creating the fake stuff.
3. My schedule was set for 60 minutes for both items - not 5 minutes. But I still had the noted problems except I did not experience battery drain.

I am, however, experiencing the problem another poster noted, namely: When I sync my Axim I get a pop up saying unable to obtain a server-assigned IP Address. Try again later or enter an IP setting.
Has anyone else noted this problem, or especially have a solution to resolve it?

BTW: My Axim x51v with ROM version A06(12190500)was purchased in late January. I am successfully syncing (so far - about a week) on two computers: home and work. The cradle is at work. I use a cable at home. I've installed Audible, several Audible files, a dozen MP3s, and several books along with Mobi-reader.

My 51v hit a whitescreen of death today after using this fix and running BT as I put it in the cradle. Overall, just using BT soon after a soft boot (even if I turn it back off), and this fix seem to improve problems greatly. But it's not perfect yet.

Thanks for all the ideas & help!

Cheers,
Bill K.

Just another vote of approval for this fix. Put it in 4 days ago and I have not lost my CF card once nor have I had the issue of the Axim not turning on.

Thanks!
