My Options Menu doesn't have a Schedule... item greyed out or otherwise.
Mine is a X51v with Ms Windows mobile 5.0 OS 5.1.70 (build 14410.1.1.3)
ROM version A08
Does anyone have any other advice before I send it back ?
Since you have A08, you may not have to apply the fake server fix. Do your flash cards disappear? Does your battery drain overnight? If not, don't worry, be happy.

(Copied from my separate post - Im not 100% sure its the same issue, but its worth a try)
I would have posted this in hardware trouble, but Im not sure its hardware...
Anyway, Im having some troubles that sounds like the ones that activesync was supposed to cause, except the first thing I did when I got my new x51v was to do the "fake server trick," so I dont think it is that.
If I let my axim sit for 3 min, the screen turns off (this is how it is set in the power settings) Now with my old x30high, I would press the power button and it would come right back on. The battery would NOT drain while it was off. With my x51v, if I just let it sit, it will shut off and pressing the power button does not turn it back on. Pressing and holding the power button makes it come back on, but all I see is a white screen, which I presume to be the infamous "White Screen of Death" Upon soft reset, I find my battery drained, as if I had been using it.
Luckily, if I just press the power button to "manually" put it in "standby mode" (Im not sure if these are the correct terms), pressing the power button will turn it back on with no problem, and the battery is not drained. Unfortunately I can think of many circumstances in which I let it sit and it turns off by itself (which it should, of course) but then I cant get it back on without a soft reset! And wisbar takes too darn long to wait...
Thanks for reading

I found that I had to configure the power settings such that the axim NEVER shuts off by itself, and I must manually shut it off. only then am I able to power it back by using the power button, and without having to soft reset. Any help ? ideas?
EDIT:
Even this doesnt work consitently. If I turn my axim off, I need to soft reset to turn it back on.....
HELP! VERY FRSUTRATING! This just started happening out of the blue, not after installing new programs or anything!
Hmm. I just got rid of Wisbar because it was a resource hog and as you mention when coming out of standby it was taking ages to reload itself.
Try removing it temporarily and see what happens then. Also try removing a few other bits to see what happens. Especially stuff that customizes your Today screen.
I currently have Calendar+ and Magic Button working in harmony without problems. Got rid of Wisbar and SPB Pocket Plus.

Thought I'd mention this strange experience. Found I couldn't access my 1Gb SD card. The folders showed up, but not the files. Thought the card was dead at first. Then I put in a card from my camera and it sitill showed the folders from my other card. Everything else was working. So I did a quick reset and it started reading the cards again! First time that has happened to me.:rolling:
I tried your fix - my x51v was set to sync every 10 minutes.
I now have it set to manual and am hoping the battery discharge / not turning on / have to soft reset issue will be gone.
So far it still isn't recognizing my CF card 128MB eFilm from Delkin Devices (it did a couple of times a month ago)
It has never had a problem with my sd card.
Any suggestions
I have isolated the problem. I only have trouble turning my axim back on after putting it in standby mode while the wireless is on. If I turn wireless off before pressing the power button (putting it in standby) I will have no trouble turning it back on. If I dont, I will have to hold the power button down, and even then I will only get a white screen and I will have to soft reset. :( :( :(
With my old x30high, I could have wireless on, put it in standby, and turn it back on with no trouble at all - there was very little battery drain, too. Is anyone with an x51v able to do this?
Is there a fix? I dont want to have to turn wireless off everytime! Its a pain, and Im likely to forget 50% of the time.
I got this problem after the update to A06. With A01, I fixed it by leaving ON the Bluetooth but did not help with A06.
With your solution my X51v is running.
From a fellow Arsenal fan, I truly appreciate the info given in this thread. This fix has solved my Axim "not turning on problems" just about at the time I was ready to give it up as an expensive paperweight.
A quick question, though, I thought I read somewhere that this fix made Spb Pocket Plus not work. I don't know where I read it, or even if I really did read it, but I'm hoping somebody here will know. I like the looks of the utility, especially given the issues with Switcher Bar...so, will Spb Pocket Plus work with this fix in place?
I think I've isolated my battery brain problem on my x50v that I thought I'd share.
After I upgraded to WM5 (CDs recieved a couple of months after I bought the axim) - I was getting sooooo po'ed that my Axim regularly died usually in just over a day in Standby mode out of the cradle.
I'm not a power user like some here - still pretty much a noob but I still would like my axim to be more than just a calendar/contacts/paperweight.
I haven't done the ActiveSync hack as posted here but I saw somewhere in the forums something about the SD & CF cards affecting performance or whatnot.
I decided to take my 1GB SD and 1GB CF cards out (they were usually docked) overnight to see what would happen to the battery drain. So far so good.
In standby, now it only gets down to 90% overnight instead of totally draining.
Now my problem is that if I want to access programs installed on the SD or CF I have to dig them out and plug it in.
Not a great fix but for whatever reason not having my SD or CF cards in the axim really improves on the battery life.

Anybody else with similar experience?
You need to apply the fix mentioned in the thread. I had the same issues with my sd and cf cards. Four months after applying this fix I have not lost my sd or cf cards even once.
