:approve: I naively thought "I've just bought a new X51 so Dell/Microsoft will have sorted this by now" but of course the problem still exists. Many thanks for the workaround.
Feeling like you've just wasted your hard earned cash on a bad buy? Upset by people in this very forum telling you to send it back, take legal action, burn it, demand a refund etc? Fear not my fellow Axim user, for they are the uneducated... Let's start at the beginning:

Thank you so much.
I bought my X51v about two weekd ago, and have been tempted to either send it back or use it for target practise. Your post has saved me hours and hours of frustration. :approve:
After you sync your Axim you must manually turn off Active Sync or it will remain running and defeat the purpose of the fake exchange server hack. This could be why some people have had no luck with the hack.
If this is true, please include this in the lead post. It's very significant.
It's the next "solution" I'm going to try... that is, to close all programs with SwitcherBar before shutting off the Axim.
Can closing Activesync be automated with the power button somehow? As in a short program that closes Activsync and then powers down the unit when you press the power button?

Thanks EngrPaul and Terryvi. I have added this information to the original post.
As for losing the CF card, my Ax suffers from this from time to time as well, but not as often as it was originally. We can only hope Dell fix it soon.

Excuse me ...I'm Loox N560 user (I know ... shame on me :) ).. Few questions... Do you have to delete this fake Exchange server ??? Is it normal behaviour when PDA is connected to my PC it synchronizes every few minutes ???

The instructions indicate to delete the fake exchange server. I have a X51V and it also syncs every few minutes while connected to my PC through the cradle or the usb sync cable I have.
During the first 3 days I did not connect the X51 to any power source at night, in order to check if it works (and it does).
Last night I left the X51 connected to my PC via the sync cable, so that it would be charged.
This morning I saw the battery was nearly depleted.
Any ideas?
(I have already checked that I don't have any application set to auto connect every X minutes. In any case, if I had such a setup, it would have depleted the battery during the 1st 3 days, and it didn't. So apparently this isn't the problem).
I have been closing all programs with Switcher bar religiously before shutting off my device, which gets rid of ActiveSync. When I lost the CF card last night, I double-checked, ActiveSync was not an active program. I also double-checked that the fake server was still implemented (by going through the routine until I found both settings "Manually".)
HOUSTON! We STILL have a problem.
