Well, I have not really had most of the issues on my x51v that others have had, except for the bluetooth not being able to connect properly to the cell phone I have now. When I sent a message to Dell service in Japan, I got back a long message about not really knowing what is happen with other manufacturers (ie: why my cell phone cannot connect to my Axim propely and use DUN (which is really an axim issue, not my phones, as it seems to work with my friends WM5 IPAQ and my Toshiba e830)), and that it was not their resonsibility. I was also politely informed that:
"現時点では、本製品に対して、システムアップデートの提供は予定しておりません。"
Roughly translated, "
At the present time, we have no plan to release a system update(ROM update)." So it looks like they are basically blaming the bluetooth problems on other companies and sticking their heads in the sand. I know that the A06 update isn't fixing all of your problems in the English version, but at least they seem to be trying, or recongnizing that there are problems.
They then went on to apologize that they could not help even though I had gone to all the trouble of filing in a request. Dell Japan is nothing if not (nothing but) polite, I gotta give them that. But I still can't dial-up through my cell phone. Too bad.
Maybe I will start up a site in Japanese and English to help others in Japan who are faced with a lack of support for Japanese PDAs. It is always better to work on fixing a problem than to waste time worrying about it. :approve: What do you all think (about Dells response, and about the site idea)?
