Install 2003SE on new X51v?

I just got my Axim yesterday. Lots of people are commenting on problems still with A06, so I really don't want to upgrade from the default A01.

However, if 2003SE supports the hardware of the X51v, I would like to use that. Is this possible?

Also, how much time is there usually between updates? I have 21 days in which to return to Dell, and I am hoping that A07 will be out by then.

This question has been asked in the last couple of days as well. In the Hardware thread if Im not wrong.

Keep your A01 ROM, most people actually are happy with it after applying all the tweaks.(Some even regret upgrading from A01)

No you cant use WM2003SE on your X51v.

Why Not? Because even if you can and something goes wrong with your X51v youve bricked it permanently as youve just voided your Dell warranty thanks to that inspired move. :)

And with regards to how often they provide an updated ROM. Every few months. Im guessing the next one(A07+)will come a few months from now. So hang in there. The A01 ROM is good enough. Just dont brick your unit by trying to put WM2003SE on your X51v :)

Thanks -- I'll stay with A01 as you advise. I just downloaded and installed Activesync 4.1 off of the Microsoft site, and my Axim is not recognized.

Is there a thread on this Aximsite indicating what a new Axim user should do? I read a lot of the threads but it's hard to get a handle on everything. I know there are bluetooth problems -- should I disable that? I saw the post about the phantom exchange server so I can do that.

If there isn't a sticky thread about all the things a new user should do maybe I will create one. Any pointers though would be helpful.
