I have several password protected docements that I use on a daily basis. I do not have the password for many of these docements and when I attempt to open them in Excell I get an error message telling me that I cannot open password protected docements. Is there some type of fix for this?
I don't understand. If you don't know the password, how can you be using them on a daily basis? Or do you just use them in read-only mode?
Pocket Excel uses a different protection scheme so you may have compatibility issues.
Can you clarify in more detail where the password is applied and whether you are opening / using the files on the PC's Excel or Pocket Excel, since they're quite different.

I did not understand the question, but I have had this problem myself, whereas I know the password of the password-protected Excel files on the PC and I can't open them on the Pocket PC. And now that I am using WM5 on my Axim X51v, it seems that there is no way of password protecting a file in Excel Mobile. Previously, this was possible with Pocket Excel, although it seemed impossible to deal with password protected Excel files syncing on the PC and PPC. This is what I think our friend is complaining about, but now with Excel Mobile the situation is even worse...
I use the documents in read only, I did not create the document so I do not know the password. My question is does anyone have a fix or some type of program that allowes you to open password protected documents in Pocket Excel?
As far as I know, there is no fix for this in terms of Pocket Excel. If I recall well, Pocket Excel will not open any files that are password-protected on the Desktop PC. And I can affirm without any doubt that this is impossible with Excel Mobile (which is the new version of Excel included with Windows Mobile 5). With Excel Mobile, the password must first be removed with Excel on the desktop PC before it can be opened on the PPC.
You can try Planmaker I no its expensive, but try the trial to see if it works.
This might work, but it's a shame that a native m$ product can't do the same thing. I often have to reference and review spreadsheets that have been locked, but still need to be filled in. It's sad that this is not possible out of the box.
I downloaded the trail software but I don't really like the program. I guess it will work and I will obviousely have to get used to it, thanks for the tip.
