I think the PDA is being phased out, I do not think there will be another PDA from Dell, there may some sort of smartphone, but no x52v. A guess on my part, no concrete evidence that I know of, but no more PDA's for me.
I've tried several phone-PDAs including the K-JAM WM5 device from iMate and several Symbian devices, and have always gone back to a two piece solution, currently a Dell Axim X51v and a Nokia 6230. bluetooth works fine between these two.

The functionality, size, or performance were always lacking in some way with the multi-function devices. They may get there in the future, but there's always going to be the trade-off between size and screen real estate. My current solution gives me a small but reliable phone and a large VGA screen. I also find the X51v the most reliable and powerful PPC so far.

I do like the look of the Sony-Ericsson P990, but am concerned I will be disappointed again with its compatibility or functionality.
