Cannot Create a partnership 51v
Well..I've max out my troubleshooting skills. I have a brandy new Dell Axim 51v and a brand new Dell Latitude D810. I cannot for the life of me get the Axim to create a partnership with the laptop. I've tried installing/uninstalliing the current Activesync 4.0. I've tried upgrading to 4.1 with the same results. I know the laptop is recognizing the new hardware. It appears in the device manager and I see it in the network connections as well but activesync just sits there and spins and spins and spins and never creates a partnership
Now...I've read a lot on this and I've tried the folowing:
1. verified that no windows firewall is running
2. verified that the cable is not damaged and no pins are bent
3. successfully installed it on another desktop computer (thereby indicating the problem is on my laptop
4. tried hard and soft reboots of the Axim
5. Completely reinstalling everything from scratch
6. verified that the USB ports work with other devices and even tried different USB ports
7. disabled the McAfee's Enterprise on installation and connection
8. Talked to Dell support (boy was that an exercise in futility)
9. Said a small payer (that didn't work either)
I'm down to a few choices that I might need help on. Since this is a company laptop it has a Cisco VPN client installed on it as well as NetOasis (VoIP software). The only thing I can think of is one or more of these are interferring with it somehow. I read somewhere in my research that VPN software can have an affect. Does anybody know anything more than this?
Does anybody have any suggestions I haven't thought of? I need it to work with this laptop and no other so my choices if I can't fix it are limited
Warmest Regards
John
