I'm using Mocha CE TELNET V2.0, it works great.
You can also use PockeTTY
or free one : PocketPuTTY 0.1 - http://pocketputty.duxy.net/
I tried all on my x51v but Mocha is the best.

Never tried Mocha, but putty works for every router and SSH to every *nix box I can find. I highly recommend it. Plus the desktop version of Putty, is the best.

You can use mToken V3.2.0 of Choung Networks. This is real good except the font is not nice.
With the Putty on mine. When i active the keyboard, Putty did not resize the display windows so it hide the text behind. Typing without seeing :-)

Terminal Service Client, which is already with the PPC OS.
You can also use PocketVNC or PC anywhere for PPC.

I guess what I'm really want to accomplish is to vpn into work and
telnet to our machines without using the main pc, or maybe using
the pockpc at a hotspot or something.

There is some VPN client for PPC like MovianVPN, AdmitOne VPN, Pocket Global VPN (SonicWALL) ... But you have to check which one your router support.
My company using Cisco PIX and ... there is no PPC client for it. That is bad for me.
Here is the list for Cisco Router/Firewall/Concentrator:

I use pocketputty, but it doesnt always seem to get along with my today screen and requires a reset. Looks better than pocketty though.

thios is easy i do it every day.
Under settings/connections add a new connection for your work and add a vpn connection to it.
Then use Terminal server client to connect to the Ip or machine name. it should auto dial and connect to your VPN
If you have issues send me a PM and i will give you a hand gettting it running.

i'm also using x51v vpn connection against a cisco 3030 vpn concentrator. 100% reliable. I'm doing PTPP. Control 100+ servers of our intranet from any hotspot using terminal services client. No additional software, only plain wm5.
regards.
