I sure will, as soon as i have some time... There is another chap around here who had the same idea but has not started building it yet. He said he plans on doing a walkthrough as he does it, so look for that too!

Unfortunately the controller does not fit the Axim. I wonder if the utility of the gamepad is a lot less if you can't fit the Axim inside of it?

I'm not sure what you mean, gillius. The idea of this project was in part to make it fit...

Yup, you certainly can use it like that! Because it's bluetooth, not only does it not have to be attached, but it can work from several feet away. Hope this helps!

I haven't been a gammer since I use my pda for productivity primarily. However, I have started to invest in some games and decided to buy Galaga which I played as a girl....shhhhh don't tell anyone...that was a long time ago.
Anyhow, I don't see the gamepad controls on WM2003SE like I had for my old Jornada. It was in the settings panel. Guess WM2003 doesn't have any. Bummer. I had hoped to use my keyboard. So, I am reading your posts regarding game pads. is the one you mentioned above the only choice? I have searched google high and low and it appears as if it is. Geeks.com seems to be the one to buy from. I was hoping to have more choices or get my keyboard to work. Anybody have any other alternatives? I am not a build something on your own type.
EDIT: I should mention I want a BT gampad not a serial port.

Morphgear with gamepad

I have the gamepad and am trying to use it with morphgear. The gamepad itself is working in morphgear (I can map the buttons and move through the morphgear menus with it) but when I try to play a game the gamepad does not work. Is there anything in particular that you did to make it work with the actual games?

Hmmm, that's odd. I don't recall doing anything different, it seems like it just worked off the bat!
Do the Axim's own buttons still control the game properly?

They do, it's really weird since the gamepad works just not while in the game. I tried the gba, the snes, and the cgb. I'm downloading the new drivers version 1.5 from chainpus.com, maybe that will help. I currently have version 1.4
Installed version 1.5 no changes
Something I have just noticed, While in the game, I try to use the gamepad and press several of the buttons. When I click on morphgear settings with the stylus, all of a sudden all the button presses that I tried to do while in the game go through as soon as the game is paused and the morphgear settings are displayed. So the gamepad is sending the button presses to morphgear and morphgear is getting them but morphgear is not sending them to the game itself. What version of morphgear are you using? I have version 2.3.0.2 on X50v running 2003se

My Axim and my version of MG are the same as yours. The controller software, however, in v1.31. I didn't even know there were updates available!
OK, i checked out the chainpus site. Links to past versions do not appear there, but by changing a 5 to a 3 in the link i found that "my" version is indeed still there. You should be able to get it by clicking this: http://chainpus.com/support/BGP100_v130.zip
Hope that works for ya!

Didn't work, good try though. I noticed at another forum site something similar with a different product, but where it did the same thing. There weren't any replies to it though. I'll keep working on it, let me know if you find anything.

Gee, too bad. Unanswered forum posts like that are the worst! They get your hopes up for nothing!
Well good luck, i will certainly let you know if anything turns up... You might want to try starting a thread specifically about this problem. Don;t know if that's bad forum etiquette though...

I think I will since this thread is about the mod, which is great by the way. I'm thinking about creating a platform that will fit on the controller and hold the pda since I have a nokia 3650 that does work and fit on the controller. It can be a little awkward, but still way better than the axim or the phone buttons. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling morphgear, but that still didn't do anything. I have a friend at work that also has one so we're going to try it on his. Thanks for all your help, I'll let you know if I ever fix the problem.
