Pocket Breeze = Pocket Molasses (WM5)

Is there a faster alternative to Pocket Breeze on WM5? Possibly one that has skins that actually work under WM5? After installing the demo, my X51v slowed to a crawl.

Thanks in advance.

did you try unchecking the 'refresh screen after minimize' checkbox under the advanced settings of pb?

I switched to Pocket Informant and it is much faster than PB.

blue - why is this Dell's issue? It is bad code and whoever makes PB needs to update it.

Silly me, just happen to be running another (registered) app from these guys --> iLauncher! Which is great BTW.

You would think that these two (Pocket Breeze and iLauncher) would be happy together?

That's it for my today plug-ins (multiple resets didn't help either). Not running anything else but MagicButton. I would have dealt with slow speed if the skins worked. Like several other people have reported - skin always defaults back to default under WM5.

Can you suggest another app that is similar to this?

This made no difference in speed and changing skins is still broken.

Ringo,
The latest version of PB is WM5 compatible.
Are you running 5.0.01? There were some issues with version 5.0.0 and Pocket Informant.
The current beta version of PocketBreeze is aimed totally at speed and database access improvements.
We have several beta testers using an Axim51v without any issues.
There may be something else going on.

Ringo7 - I'm using PB (registered version)with WM5 and my system is not slowed down to the extent you described. Are you sure that you installed the WM5 version? You might want to post on the SBSH forums with your problem. Amit, the developer, is very responsive to users.

Hi Ringo7 :)

I'm terribly sorry for the trouble

I'm using my PocketBreeze on a similar device like yours and it runs pretty fast, I also know for sure that we have more users that are using it with this device without special problems, so this is something for sure that we will be able to resolve together :)

Can you please try and enter Start -> Settings -> System (bottom tab) -> Error reporting -> check the option "Disable error reporting" and then soft-reset the device.

Does this helps? :)

Ha ha! Getting down on SBSH for their update speed is like urging Ferrari to make a quality car

First thing I checked was the version of PB. They said this latest version is compatible with WM5 (and it is... just in slow motion).

I had some problems one time I hard reset my X51v (when doing a ROM update) and accidently put on the 2003 version instead of the WM5 version.

I just put on the WM5 and it was back to normal. I run PB, PW, and PI. My device is nice and quick.
The only plugin on my Today is PB with PW as a tab.

Already have error reporting turned off from day one. There really isn't anything else running other than iLauncher, PB and MagicButton.

Again, I can deal with the peanut-butter speed (Even PB is faster than Wisbar Advance 2 on WM5) but would rather at least have the skin option working. I've installed a few skins per the instructions and I'm certain they're installed correctly. Just completely ignored when selecting any new skin.

I'll see if I can find the other posts on the net regarding this problem unded WM5 and PB.

If I remove PB, this thing COOKS!! I mean it's extremely fast, very snappy, ROM = A06 and no other problems. Also have it installed in main memory and not on a (SD or CF) card.

Since Amit already knows, I'm sure he'll check back for your response.
Otherwise, you may want to post in the SBSH forum.
It's checked much more often.
