SD Card removal

All,

I think I read somewhere on here that some people had an issue with removing the SD card from the Axim due to the limited room.
Can't hardly get your fingure down in the to pull the card out.

I noticed today that if you push down, from the top of the Axim, on the card whilst it is still in the Axim it pops right out.

Was I imagining and was the only one who didn't know about it...because I haven't read the owners manual? Who reads tham anyways right?

Cheers!

I can't believe someone actually tried to put their fingers in there to pull it out. of course your press it and it will pop out.

All SD readers are spring-loaded. Those dang cards are so small, they needed a way to get them out easier. CF cards, on the other hand, are not spring-loaded.

It is actually (believe it or not) easier to get the SD card out (by pressing it down, of course) if you have a CF card in as well. The gap allows you that extra room for us people who don't have fingernails or fat fingers. :D

I think the issue you read about was a CF Card that didn't have the ridge on the back for your thumb nail and the guy had to use needle nose pliers!

At times, a bump'll pop the card out if you're not careful.

Yes it was an issue with CF card removal not SD card removal. SD card slots have always been spring loaded back to the days Palm had them in their older PDAs. CF cards are far harder to remove is there is not a ledge to assist with their removal. The micro drives talked about on this site are an example. I have a Seagate 8gb CF micro drive and it is very hard to get out. I have not put tape on my drive as some others have suggested here but remove my SD card and use my finger nails on my thumb and middle finger to act as a plyers to pull slowly unil it comes out. I put my ring finger over the CF slot stopping the drive from being flug out as it releases from its pin connection.
