My 3 basic ways to run WM5 on X50v "without" problems...

1. After each reset (and appears the desktop)... wait 30 seconds to stabilize WM5 (like Windows XP :)
2. After installing & closing a program, wait 15 seconds to stabilize WM5.
3. Do not install SPB programs (they slow down a lot my X50v).

that's a mighty many seconds to wait

my (top) three steps would probably be as follows:
1. activesync fake server trick
2. cachesize of 4096 in registry
3. shsmith's filesys.exe patch (v6 as of right now) combined with removing the compactionPrio keys.

okay, so that's 4 in total, but close enough

Why the lower cachesize, I thought higher was faster? I was always used to putting 32k as my cachesize, so I did that with my newly purchased x51v. Would lowering it increase stability? (even though seems rock stable so far)

That might be clever if it made any sense.

Ok oh wise one, explain it to me. The thread was started to discuss ways of running WM5 on the x50v with the least problems. So you reply saying you have a perfect way of doing this, then say its by not installing WM5. Is this really "over my head", or was it just a dumb comment?

Its posts like yours that send threads off topic and waste everyone's time, as I'm sure you will prove with your upcoming reply to this one.

3. shsmith's filesys.exe patch (v3 values as of right now) combined with removing the compactionPrio keys.

I've never seen point #3... What is that about?
