Let's put our collective heads together to debug WM5 reminders that stop working

Like many of you here, my reminders on the X51v stopped working. My guess is I have Microsoft to thank for that.

I've seen several suggestions of hard resetting the X51v to get them working, but to me that's not a solution as I believe it will happen again.

I was wondering if there is a line in the Pocket PC's registry that controls the reminders/alarms. Whether I set them in Agenda Fusion or with the stock calendar program, I'm not receiving any more notification. If I have another program with alarms (ListPro), some people say this may conflict with WM5 alarms. If so, can't there be a registry fix?

I have no answers yet, but I'm not going to quit until I find a solution that doesn't include a hard reset.

I had this problem but found a "Fix"...

All I did was...
1) Go into the volume control on the Today Screen and adjust the volume.
...first made the volume louder then set it back to where it originally was
2) Go to the Sounds & Notifications app. in Settings and select a new sound for the reminder (on the notification tab)
3) Play the new sound
4) Go back into the Sounds & Notifications app. in the Settings and reselect the original reminder sound
5) Play the sound

Once I did this, the reminders & notifications (with sound) worked!

I know this "Fix" sounds stupid, but it worked for me!

Hope it helps you.

I found that after I uninstalled some 3D games, esp. toy golf, my reminder notifications came back

Please keep us posted. My notifications stopped working after installing/uninstalling Skype. I had to eventually hard reset (my 8th time)...

I've tried all the crazy resets and hacks up the wazoo. Guess what worked for me. The seemingly stupid change the volume/change sound/change back above. Once I did that it worked immediately without any reset or hacks.

Thanks!

All else failed and I did a hard reset on Sunday. I then found I'd lost all my Word documents, among other things.

I restored using a back up from last week, intending to copy all the missing stuff to a memory card, and while I was still re-configuring etc. a reminder sounded as normal, so I left well alone!

So far so good, but if it happens again I shall certanly try the volume reset trick!
