Don't forget to format the CF card first...

Well after farting around for about an hour I popped my new 1gb CF card into a reader and found out it needed to be formatted...now my x51v finds it just fine!

Sure its common sense to format it but people may not know that the Axim won't offer to do it for you (like some cameras do).

Every flash memory card I've ever used (CF and sd) have worked on PPCs right out of the package without any formating.

Same here. I've had probably 15-20 flash cards of various types (CF, SD and Memory Stick) and never had to format one to get it to work. I think maybe there was a problem with the card reader.

I've never formatted one either. But, if your Axim didn't see your card until you formatted it, then it makes sense.

I had to format mine to FAT32... My Ax seems to dislike FAT16... or was it the other way around?

Before my CF was usable
