Worried Ad-Hoc with Laptop WiFi Card not working.

Hi everyone,

I have my laptop connected to my 2 port router at home via ethernet, and my Netgear WiFi card installed properly on the laptop... However, my X51v cannot connect to the "laptop" network.

I have read the many different posts here about similar problems, but none of the suggested things have made a single difference.

My old iPAQ ppc can connect to the network, surf PIE, connet to MSN and play my movies stored and shared on the laptop. The X51v cannot.

The network named "laptop" is detected, I ask it to connect me to 'work' or 'the internet' and the little WiFi thingo up the top simply does this:

i -to- (i) -to- (i)<--> -to- (i)<-> (Dodgy, but I'm sure you get what i mean...)

Then repeats the animation

When i go into the Dell WLAN utility, the signal strength goes from good to nothing, to good, to nothing. The status is "connected" then "connecting" then "connected" then........

Also the signal strength bar down the bottom of the today screen shows no bars at all...
The PPC is right next to the laptop, just like the iPAQ which can connect.

I had this issue with A04, just before posting, I updated to A06. Still the problem persists.

I am yet to see if A06 fixes or wrecks anything more.

Thanks to any kind person who can try to help,
Josh

Hi Josh,
You can check this link and see if it is similar to your setup.

If you can send me some screenshots of your laptops adhoc settings and X51's settings I can try to troubleshoot it for you. Pls send it to mav3rick29@yahoo.com in a .zip format to that it would be easier for you to send me the attachment.
