Changing WM5 bottom bar...

I'd like to change the bottom bar 'Contacts' to 'New' (like WM2003)
... and add more icons in addition to Wireless & Bluetooth (like Soft Reset, Power Off, etc.)

The new interface in WM5 is somewhat configurable, but you aren't going to get the old WM2003 functionality without some 3rd party apps. You can change the Calendar and Contacts buttons to other functions (there's a couple different threads here on that), but since the buttons just run programs you can't make one be "New".

The icon area you mention is more of a system tray, showing status and providing some shortcuts to settings screens. Certain apps you install will add more icons there, but it isn't meant to be a launcher. Once again you will need a 3rd party app to add something like that to the today screen.

Tweaks2k2 will change the bottom buttons. I have mine set to resco explorer and pocket esword. http://www.tweaks2k2.com/

The launcher icons are merely shortcuts in the \Windows\StartUp folder i beleive, but they start the apps when is resets, so I sont think you can add more as just nonactive links.

true. I thought I was being slick & put a BT toggle in there & BT kept starting all the time?! LOL I removed that fast...
...possibly a useful tip for someone who wants blue tooth on all the time...
