Question x51v and activesync update to 4.1

I just recently got my new axim(2 weeks) and was very happy with it, until I made the big mistake of uploading activesync to 4.1. Since then, I have not been able to sync again. I think this is because windows recognizes my pda as new hardware installed, and activesync cannot recognize my pda.
If anyone has a any sugestions, this is definitely a cry for help.

A few more details will help.
How are you syncing, USB, IR, Bluetooth?
Any Norton cra errr software on the computer?
What errors?

My New 51v came with A06, and I started with 4.1 right from the start, and had no problems.

Did you connect the X51v to the computer in the time between having 4.0 and 4.1 on the computer, or was it connected while you were installing 4.1? If so I believe that would be the cause of Windows recognising it as new hardware...

Check your firewall software. If you approved ActiveSync 4.0 to go through the firewall, then you will have to re-approve 4.1 to go through as well (different binaries).

Making the USB connection a LAN connection has got to be the most stupid thing MS did with WM5 - since everyone started running into firewall issues.

Inside the Control Panel, click on the link for "Network and Internet Connections".
In the subsequent window, click on "Network Connections" at the bottom of the window.
In the "Network Connections" window, right click on the connection with "Device" field labeled "Windows Mobile Device" followed by a number. Click on "Properties" once the context menu appears.
Note: It may help to put this window into "Details View" to identify the correct adapter with the "Device" field specified above.
In the "Properties" Window, be sure to uncheck all check-boxes in the "This connection uses the following items:" list EXCEPT for:
* Client for Microsoft Networks
* File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks
* Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
Hit Close.

Firewalls should be between your internal network and the outside world. They should have no effect on traffic inside your own network. These so-called "personal firewalls" are more trouble than they are worth, other than possibly alerting you that something on your computer is making an outbound connection that it shouldn't be, but then again nothing should be, because your ant-virus, and anti-spyware software wouldn't allow it in the first place, right? Thank $deity that I can force the Windows firewall off at work via a GPO...
